The Best Family-Friendly Activities in London This Autumn

Visit A London Park

Autumn is one of London’s most beautiful times of the year. The city’s colour palette turns into lovely shades of crimson, amber, and auburn as the leaves change. There’s no better place to admire the foliage than in one of London’s sprawling parks. You can’t go wrong with the landmarks like Hyde Park and Regents Park, but London has plenty of other gems outside of the city centre. Kids will love the massive playground and children’s zoo at Battersea Park, which features adorable critters like otters and chinchillas. For more cute animals, be sure to visit the deer habitat in Richmond Park. Your little one will feel like they’re in a real life Disney movie! 

Catch A Family-Friendly Theatre Show 

London is famous for its top-notch theatre scene. It includes some amazing family-friendly spectacles, from staples like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to exclusive seasonal shows. A cozy theatre is the perfect place to stay cozy and entertained during gloomy autumn days. This season’s lineup has a lot of great options: Matilda the Musical, The Lion King, Frozen: The Musical, and The Tiger Who Came To Tea. Make Learning Fun at a London Museum

London’s museums are a good idea any time of the year. Many of them are free and feature exhibits that both kids and adults will find fascinating. But it’s always fun to check out special exhibitions, especially kid-friendly ones. There are two that are on the top of our list this season:

Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser at the V&A. If your child is a fan of Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s novel, they’ll love this immersive exhibition that showcases all things Alice in Wonderland. 

Introducing Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature at the Natural History Museum. Inspired by the mythical creatures of the Harry Potter world and beyond, this exhibit will surely fill your little one’s mind with wonder. 

Enjoy The Simple Life At A City Farm

Autumn is known as the season of the harvest, which means it’s the perfect time of year to visit one of London’s many city farms. Where else can you escape to the countryside without even leaving the city? London’s city farms often offer kid-friendly activities and have cafes that serve delicious food made with ingredients that couldn’t possibly be fresher.
